My Mom has always told me, to whom much is given, much is expected.
Starting the summer of 2022, I have been teaching chess to kids from Livingston and surrounding neighborhoods. For the past three summers, I have volunteered as a Junior Police Academy Staff Member with the Livingston Police Department. This provided me with the opportunity to play chess with a few of the officers in the Livingston Police Department, which also allowed me to teach chess strategy and tactics. I also spoke at the 2023 Autism Awareness Month event, to join in solidarity with kids who are neurodivergent, and share with them how chess has helped me in life. In the summer of 2023, I taught chess to 15 middle and high school students for two weeks at Rutgers University’s Pre-College Summer Institute Program. Most recently I started a program called Checkmate To A Better Future aimed at promoting chess.
